 The speed of the beeps tells you windspeed (reference below)
The tone of the beeps tells you direction The new meter picks up on the first ring. If it continues to ring, hang up and try again in a bit as it will always answer on the first ring or never at all. If you hear one solid tone that starts to sound like feedback, it's because the meter is not spinning.... light to no wind. If you hear nothing right after the meter picks up, it's the same thing... light to no wind.
Here's the new meter with George flying his acro wing. I'll try and get a better video on a nice "normal glider" day. Future improvements include an additional Vodaphone number.
Why have it just Telecom when we can easily have both? |
